The Charlotte Observer, May 11 issue, profiled Mary as one of three finalists for 2009 Women Business Owner of the Year.  The prestigious award is presented annually by The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) to a member who has demonstrated strong leadership skills in growing and managing a successful business that is more than five years old.

Featured in a December 7, 2007 article in the The Charlotte Business Journal, titled "How to: Move a Business Out of a Home Office," Mary explains why and how she went about making the decision years ago to relocate her business to an office outside of her home.

Quoted in the April 20, 2007 issue of The Charlotte Business Journal, in an article titled "How To:  Develop a Disaster Plan," Mary points out that the cost of a redundant system for your data is well worth it, compared to devastating effect the loss of your data could mean to your business. 

"Taking the Plunge," an article featuring women in business, which ran in The Charlotte Business Journal on January 7, 2005, featured Mary Bruce sitting behind her desk and talking about her 10 years in business. Mary is quoted as saying "never for a nanosecond have I regretted it."  She talks about networking and the flexibility of being a business owner.

Quoted in the January 17, 2003, issue of The Charlotte Business Journal in an article by Patricia Pollack titled "New Agenda can be Built by Site Shift," Mary Bruce shares one of her interesting meeting places as Pike's Soda Shop where having an ice cream float can set the tone for an enjoyable and productive meeting.

The Charlotte Business Journal, July 13, 2001 issue, listed Mary as one of 25 recipients of the 2001 Women in Business Award, presented annually to local women based on their accomplishments during the past year. 

In an article titled "Married to Their Companies" in The Charlotte Observer's November 6, 2000 Business Monday, Mary Bruce is quoted concerning the unique advantages and challenges of husband-wife partnerships.

Mary Bruce was invited to comment on her membership in the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and the benefits it has provided to Kaleidoscope Business Options, Inc.  Her response appears in the May issue of the Business Life Charlotte.

Quoted in the June 16, 2000 issue of The Charlotte Business Journal in an article by Patricia Pollack titled "Rapid Growth is Great, If You Can Survive It," Mary Bruce shares some of the key factors in successful business growth.  She has gathered this information through her work with high-growth companies over the past 25 years.

As one of two business owners quoted in an article titled "Hire and Retain Winners" in Ventures Charlotte, second quarter 2000 issue, Mary Bruce covers the shift in power that employees currently have, as well as some changes that employers have made in order to hire and retain winners.

Mary Bruce was one of several experts interviewed for a special series on solutions for small business.  Her remarks appear in the Charlotte Chamber's fourth quarter 1999 issue of Ventures Charlotte in an article titled "Strategic Planning:  Positioning Your Company for The Future."
